ACCOUNTANT- NDIS AND AGED CARE (SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE)

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to coordinate our NDIS and brokerage accounts receivable functions and support our Support at Home accounts receivable team.

Qualifications

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the complete NDIS and brokerage accounts receivable process, including quotes, service agreements, invoicing, claiming, payment allocation and debt follow-up.
  • Submit claims through applicable funding portals and investigate rejected, delayed or underpaid claims.
  • Reconcile client accounts, funding payments, remittances and accounts receivable control accounts.
  • Prepare journals and adjustments arising from reconciliations.
  • Support the Support at Home accounts receivable team with claiming, payment allocation, client budget reconciliations and complex account enquiries.
  • Work with operational teams to ensure services, funding, agreements and invoices are accurate and aligned.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
  • Prepare bank, balance-sheet, general ledger and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation entries.
  • Assist with profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports and management reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and expenditure monitoring.
  • Assist with BAS/GST, payroll tax and other compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and effective internal controls.
  • Support improvements to accounting systems, reporting and accounts receivable processes.

Preferred Skills

Essential requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated accounting experience, including financial reporting, reconciliations, journals and month-end processes.
  • Strong accounts receivable experience across invoicing, collections, payment allocation and reconciliations.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate processes, support a team and meet strict deadlines.

Highly desirable

  • Experience with NDIS, aged care, Support at Home or other government-funded receivables.
  • Experience preparing quotes, service agreements and funding schedules.
  • Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and Nurses Award.
  • Experience with payroll processes and Employment Hero.
  • CPA or CA qualification, or progress toward obtaining one.
