Allied Health with Right at Home
Right at Home is dedicated to delivering quality, client-centred allied health services across Australia focusing on wellness and reablement. Your local Right at Home office provides allied health services comprising exercise physiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, counselling, psychology, and speech pathology.
Under the Australian Government’s Support at Home program, you can now receive fully government-funded clinical allied health services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, and podiatry. You can also access nutrition services for prescribed supplementary dietary products and aids required for conditions related to functional decline or impairment.
Support at Home may also subsidise therapeutic services for independent living like acupuncture, chiropractic, and remedial massage. These needs should be discussed with your care partner.
Restorative Care & Allied Health
A new feature of the Support at Program is short-term funding under the Restorative Care Pathway. Restorative care helps you stay independent at home and delays the need for residential care. It is an intensive short-term, goal focussed period of care delivered in your home or in the community by a team of allied health, nurse, and care professionals who help you improve function and focus on reablement. What this looks like will be different for everyone. While the Restorative Care Pathway will include allied health and/or nursing care, it could possibly include exercises to improve strength and balance and may involve recommendations for equipment or making minor home modifications to facilitate wellbeing and independence.
The main purpose of restorative care at Right at Home is to support you to do the things you enjoy independently at home for as long as possible.
