Home Care FAQs

Making a decision about caregiving for a loved one is never easy. To be comfortable with your options, you need answers. We hope the following information is a good start. If your questions aren’t answered completely, call your local Right at Home office. We’d be glad to speak with you about your specific family situation.

What types of services do you provide?

Right at Home provides aged care at home, dementia and cognitive care, nursing care, allied health, government-funded Support at Home and Home Care Packages, private pay home care, restorative care, transitional and postoperative care, end-of-life and palliative care, disability support and NDIS, and managed live-in and 24-hour care.

Do you charge administration and case management fees?

We maximize your budget by charging zero Package Management fees, ensuring more of your funding goes directly towards your care. We charge a transparent, flat-rate Care Management fee that remains well within government caps, providing you with professional clinical oversight and personalised care coordination without hidden administrative costs.

What is your after-hours process?

Right at Home Australia operates a 24/7 on-call 1300 363 802 number to ensure clients and their families have access to support at any time.

How quickly can you respond to an enquiry?

Incoming calls are answered promptly, and the team maintains a minimum response time of 2 hours to any enquiry on a 24-hour basis. Under most circumstances, they can dispatch a nurse or carer to a home within a 5-hour window, depending on the urgency of the situation and the client's location.

Am I locked into a contract?

No, you are not locked into a contract and can use our services flexibly from 2 to 24 hours per day. Service agreements primarily protect the consumer and outline terms rather than create a long-term commitment.

Can you provide government-funded care?

Right at Home is an Approved Provider under the Aged Care Act, which means we can deliver in-home care and support through the government-funded Support at Home and Home Care Packages programs.

How do you insure your clinical and care staff?

Every carer is a direct Right at Home employee covered by company public liability, professional indemnity, and work cover insurance. To ensure safety, all staff undergo criminal history clearances and must hold a current National Police Certificate, First Aid and CPR certifications, and comprehensive car insurance. Nursing and allied health staff are required to maintain AHPRA registration and their own professional indemnity insurance. We offer internal, online, and on-the-job training to our staff.

What are the costs?

Right at Home offers a flexible fee-for-service model, allowing clients to fund care privately or through the government’s Support at Home program under the Consumer Directed Care approach. We also partner with private hospitals, with services often eligible for private health insurance reimbursement. Our pricing is transparent and tiered based on the specific skill set and level of care required. To ensure meaningful support and high-quality outcomes, we maintain a two-hour service minimum for all personal and companion care visits.

How often will my carer change?

We prioritise continuity of care by typically assigning one primary carer to each client. To ensure your service remains seamless, we also introduce a small, dedicated team of at least two backup carers. This approach guarantees that if your primary carer is away due to illness or leave, you will always be supported by someone who is already familiar with your routine, preferences, and care plan.

Your company employs RNs, what does this mean?

Right at Home Australia provides a premium, nurse-led service model that prioritises clinical excellence and continuity of care. By employing Registered Nurses (RNs), we offer complimentary initial assessments, expert care planning, and on-site supervision of support staff, while also delivering complex clinical care such as wound dressings and IV therapy.
