Description

The Disability Support Worker provides person-centred, strengths-based support to people with disability, enabling them to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes and communities. Support is delivered in line with NDIS Practice Standards, individual goals, and Right at Home values.

Covering the Lower North shore: Chatswood, Artarmon, Neutral Bay, Mosman, Manly and many more locations.

Personal Care & Daily Living Support

Assist participants with personal care including showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices
Provide continence support and promote personal dignity

Independent Living & Community Access

Support participants with daily routines, meal preparation, and household tasks
Assist with shopping, appointments, and community participation
Encourage skill development and independence in daily activities

Behavioural & Emotional Support

Provide positive behaviour support in line with behaviour support plans
Use trauma-informed and respectful communication approaches
Support emotional wellbeing and social engagement

Health, Safety & Compliance

Follow individual support plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans
Observe, document, and report changes in participant health or behaviour
Maintain accurate case notes and progress reports
Adhere to NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding, WHS, and infection control policies

Qualifications

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
National Police Check
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Valid NSW driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Right to work in Australia
