We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and reliable Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistant to join our growing Allied Health team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Occupational Therapists and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living in the community.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist to deliver therapy programs that help clients improve their independence, mobility, and overall wellbeing. You will support clients in their homes and within the community while promoting person-centred care and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing therapy programs developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Support clients to achieve their individual therapy goals and maximise independence.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, mobility, and functional tasks.
  • Monitor client progress and provide feedback to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and safe use of therapeutic equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Comply with Right at Home policies, procedures, and Work Health and Safety requirements.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (desirable).
  • Previous experience in aged care, disability support, community care, or allied health assistance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
  • Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Australian work rights.

Preferred Skills

Desirable

  • Experience supporting Occupational Therapy programs in a community setting.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS, Home Care Packages, Support At Home Programme.
  • Experience working with older adults and people living with disability.
