World Hepatitis Day is celebrated on 28 July. In Australia, World Hepatitis Day is coordinated by the national peak body Hepatitis Australia, to raise awareness and promote action on viral hepatitis.  

National Pain Week is an annual awareness campaign coordinated by Chronic Pain Australia to draw attention to the plight of people suffering from chronic pain with the strategic intent to ensure that all Australians living with it receive the ‘Triple AAA’ standards of care – Awareness, Accessibility and Affordability. 

This National Diabetes Week, from 9 to 15 July, will celebrate the theme ‘Raise your voice. Drive change.’ 

May is definitively food awareness and dietary health month. May is Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Month and also celebrates Food Allergy Week from May 21 to 27 and World IBD Day on May 19.  

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Not as many people are as familiar with Parkinson’s disease (PD) as they are with, perhaps, heart disease. But it is believed that worldwide, more than 8.5 million people have Parkinson’s, including many who may not yet realise they have it.

13th April was International FND Awareness Day. FND stands for functional neurological disorder – comprising of somatic symptoms such as blackouts, paralysis, and abnormal movements that suggest the presence of an underlying neurological condition but none of the symptoms are explained by diseases.  

Last week was Tinnitus Awareness Week and we at Right at Home Australia would like to take a moment to acknowledge this potentially devastating disease.  

World Leprosy Day is observed internationally every year on the last Sunday of January to increase the public awareness of leprosy or Hansen's Disease. 

November 19 will mark World Pancreatic Cancer Day 2022. One of the world’s deadliest cancers, pancreatic cancer research should be top-of-mind for all of us.
