Navigating end-of-life care can be an emotional and overwhelming process, but the Australian Government's Support at Home program commencing 1st November 2025 has introduced the End-of-Life Pathway to provide urgent, compassionate, and practical support for individuals in the final months of life.

This pathway is designed to ensure that older Australians can access the care they need — quickly and with dignity — in their home environment.

Organised by Palliative Care Australia and supported by the Department of Health, Palliative Care Week from 21 to 27 May aims to draw attention to how important palliative care is for people affected by chronic diseases. This year’s theme is to put ‘Matters of Life and Death’ front and centre in Australia’s consciousness.

National Palliative Care Week (NPCW), held from 22 to 28 May 2022, is Australia’s largest annual awareness-raising initiative to increase understanding of the many benefits of palliative care.

This week, Right at Home offices across Australia are promoting National Palliative Care Week (NPCW) held from Sunday 24 May to Saturday 30 May. This year’s theme is “Palliative Care… It’s more than you think”.
