Right at Home Greater Logan are seeking an experienced disability support worker who has a vast range of experience working with cerebral palsy, mental health and other complex conditions.

You will be operating in the Logan City region from Cornubia, Shailer Park, Beenleigh, Logan Central, Springwood, Sunnybank, Eight Mile Plains, Marsden, Inala, Darra, Durack and other surrounding suburbs. You will need to be friendly, positive, and determined to make a difference. You can demonstrate client-focused behaviour, showing empathy, and treating others with dignity and respect. You’ll be a natural relationship builder, honest, helpful, and dependable, making you a great asset to our team.

We are offering casual roles with a view to permanent part-time for suitable candidates.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working within a person-centered, enabling environment that respects the rights and needs of each client;
  • Assisting clients with personal hygiene, dressing, and domestic duties;
  • Assisting clients with daily errands, companionship, and support;
  • Providing support with academic, social, or recreational activities;
  • Preparing food, feeding clients, and administering medications;
  • Observe, care and report any changes in the health and wellbeing of the client;
  • Responding to emergency situations; and
  • Working weekend and overnight shifts as rostered
  • Yellow Card or the ability to obtain one

Qualifications

Minimum Certificate III in Individual Care or equivalent

NDIS worker screen

Current National Police Check

Current First Aid & CPR certificates

Current unrestricted driver’s licence

Medication Assistance (desirable)

A reliable, well-maintained vehicle

Comprehensive car insurance

Preferred Skills

Dealing with complex disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges
