Right at Home Central QLD is excited to announce the launch of our Allied Health and Day Respite Services, with a strong focus on wellness, reablement, and empowering older Australians to live independently and with dignity.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join us on this exciting journey and help shake the future of aged care in our community.

This unique opportunity is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about supporting older Australians and is eager to influence the delivery of Allied Health services within the home care sector.

You will join a highly skilled and supportive team of nurses and care professionals and play a key role developing innovative, person-centred services that align with evolving aged care landscape.

 

The Role:

  • Lead the development and delivery of Occupational Therapy services within the community

  • Help establish and grow a high-performing Allied Health team

  • Deliver evidence-based, person-centred therapy services to older adults in their homes and community settings

  • Champion wellness and reablement approaches that promote independence and quality of life

  • Conduct functional, mobility and home safety assessments

    Recommend and facilitate assistive equipment, home modifications and strategies to support safe living

  • Collaborate closely with nurses, care partners and other health professionals to achieve optimal client outcomes

  • Contribute to service innovation, quality improvement and best-practice care delivery

  • Travel across our service regions as required

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist

  • Professional indemnity insurance

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience (community, rehabilitation or aged care experience highly regarded)

  • Demonstrated passion for wellness, restorative care and reablement

  • Strong leadership, mentoring and team development skills

  • Commitment to delivering person-centred, high-quality care

  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel
  • Current national police check (completed in the last 12 months)

    Current first aid and CPR

  • Relevant aged care healthcare compliance documentation

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Sound clinical reasoning, problem-solving and critical thinking

  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
