AGED CARE TRAINING OFFICER (Perth based applicants only)

About the Role

Right at Home Kalgoorlie Wheatbelt is seeking an experienced and passionate Aged Care Training Officer to support the ongoing development of our care workforce.

This is a newly established position designed to strengthen staff capability, improve service quality, and ensure our teams continue to deliver exceptional care to our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, delivering, and monitoring training programs across our aged care, disability, and community care services.

This role will work closely with management and clinical teams to identify training needs, ensure compliance requirements are met, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver staff training and induction programs.
  • Facilitate both face-to-face and online training sessions.
  • Monitor and maintain training records and compliance requirements.
  • Identify skill gaps and develop targeted training initiatives.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new employees.
  • Conduct competency assessments and practical observations.
  • Assist staff in achieving and maintaining mandatory qualifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and organisational policies.
  • Work closely with management to implement workforce development strategies.
  • Promote best practice in client-centred care and clinical governance.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications in Training and Assessment (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent).
  • Experience in aged care, home care, disability services, nursing, or community services.
  • Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and contemporary aged care practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Current National Police Clearance.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.

Desirable

  • Nursing qualification (EN or RN).
  • Experience delivering education within aged care or community care settings.
  • Knowledge of Home Care Packages, CHSP, Support at Home, and NDIS programs.
  • Experience with competency assessments and workforce development programs.
