October is Mental Health Month and something we at Right at Home put great emphasis on each year.  

The National Mental Health Month 2022 Awareness Campaign theme is Building Resilience: Communities and Connections.

National Mental Health Month is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) to advocate for and raise awareness of Australian mental health. It is an important time where the Australian community comes together to raise awareness and promote better mental health for all. Throughout this month, many events have been organised in each state aiming to attract and unite Australians of all ages and backgrounds to raise awareness and promote better mental health for all.

Our caregivers can provide services that help your loved one stave off or delay further effects of ageing, both physical and mental and the deterioration of mental health caused by isolation and loneliness. 

We can help foster wellness with services like light exercise program assistance. This may include helping our clients with exercise instructions as given by physiotherapists or occupational therapists. We may take our clients to hydrotherapy or the local gym. We can also help with meal planning. This would include the planning of meals from a dietary and nutrition standpoint as well as the actual preparation of meals. We can also help with grocery shopping, medication reminders, safety supervision, and cognitive stimulation by way of puzzles, Scrabble, Bridge, cards or reading.
