July is Sarcoma Awareness Month and we at Right at Home, Australia's trusted home care provider, would like to acknowledge all those Australians who are suffering with, or have suffered from, this unique cancer.

The Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association (ANZSA) is calling on all Australians to ‘Go Yellow Anywhere for Sarcoma Awareness’ this month. This year’s Go Yellow Anywhere theme highlights the word ‘anywhere’ because of how the cancer develops in the body. 

ANZSA identifies sarcoma as a rare and complex cancer arising from the bone, cartilage or soft tissues such as fat, muscle, connective tissue or blood vessels.

Sarcomas can form anywhere in the body and are frequently hidden deep in the limbs. They are often misdiagnosed as a benign lump, or as a sporting injury or growing pains in young people.

There are more than 80 different subtypes of sarcoma, many of which have distinct clinical characteristics with unique natural history and tumour biology.
