Enrolled Nurse


Description

Performs nursing care to client in accordance with an established plan of care in accordance with Right at Home policies and procedures and all other laws and relevant professional standards.

The Enrolled Nurse will contribute to the quality of life of clients by providing high quality care in accordance with the client’s individual needs and preferences.

Duties

1.Participates in assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care for the client (in consultation with them and/or significant other and the Registered Nursing Team) which is in keeping with the legal/ethical framework and the role of the Enrolled Nurse.

2.Cares for clients in an organized manner to ensure that the highest priority needs are attended to first and to demonstrate continuity of care delivery in accordance with the client care plan.

3.Enhances the integrity of the client by respecting and following their personal values, beliefs, and customs and by protecting their rights.

4.Promotes collaboration with other Right at Home care team members in the delivery of effective, holistic and client focused care.

5.Communicates effectively with clients and significant others, and other staff using a variety of techniques (written, verbal and non-verbal), which ensures confidentiality of information and is within the legal/ethical framework and the role of the Enrolled Nurse.

6.Actively follows Right at Home policies and procedures and uses a range of competencies and knowledge that are applicable to the role of an Enrolled Nurse.

7.Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance programs including (Work Health and Safety and Infection Control) focusing on client satisfaction with care and provision of a safe working environment.

8.Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skills by pursuing continuous education and professional development according to identified needs.

9.Maintains Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and provides a copy annually to confirm CPD requirements for AHPRA registration.

Qualifications

1.Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse and a current Practicing Certificate with Medication Endorsement.

2.Australian Federal Police Clearance Certificate.

3.Driver’s License and comprehensively insured dependable private vehicle.

4.Demonstrated understanding of the roles and relationships between the Registered Nurse,Enrolled Nurse, Personal Care Assistance, and Companion Care Workers.

5.Demonstrated ability to assist in the provision of holistic client centered care using a systematic approach.

6.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Clients/ significant others and other members of the Care Team.

7.Demonstrated ability to maintain and promote the safety of clients, self and others, including a knowledge of emergency procedures and Work Health and Safety.

8.Demonstrated knowledge of the Legislation applicable to the Role of the Enrolled Nurse in the Aged Care and In-Home Care environment

1.Meets the competency levels for the Enrolled Nurse as set out by the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council (ANC) guidelines, and particular organizational requirements. Community Care Common Standards & the Community Care Charter of Rights and Responsibilities.

2.Fulfils the obligations of the Nursing Role for the Enrolled Nurse including Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

3.Establishes and maintains effective communication and harmonious working relationships.

4.Updates knowledge and skills by pursuing continuing professional development
