Celebrate Women's Health Week with Right at Home!

| News

The theme for this year's Women's Health Week is ‘Grow Your Knowledge’ in support of women making informed decisions about their health with information they can understand.

From 4 to 8 September, join Right at Home in celebrating Women’s Health Week and mark the importance of promoting good health.

Women’s Health Week is a nation-wide campaign led by Jean Hailes. Celebrating 10 years in 2022, Women’s Health Week is Australia’s largest event dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all women, girls, and gender-diverse people.

While the pandemic may seem distant for some, the population-wide effects are significant.

The 2022 Jean Hailes Women’s Health Survey sought to understand the health, healthcare experiences, health information needs, and health behaviours of women living in Australia considering the population-wide effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey was developed to inform health services, health practitioners, and health promotion activities so that they can respond effectively to the current and specific health and health information needs of women in Australia.

One of the most alarming takeaways from the survey was the drop in the number of women rating their health as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ compared to five years ago, and a trend towards more women experiencing health problems, particularly younger women.
